Edusat is the first Indian satellite built exclusively to serve the educational sector. It is mainly intended to meet the demand for an interactive satellite-based distance education system for the country. Edusat provides an excellent opportunity to the highly qualified and experienced technical faculty members to share their knowledge, experiences, views and ideas with audiences sitting in far-flung and remote areas also. Since the Edusat is a two-way communication process, it is an extremely interactive programme. It provides a platform to the students for active participation as they are allowed to put their queries across at the end of a lecture for instant clarification of their doubts.

Efforts for setting up a SIT (Satellite Interactive Terminal) in the institution are being made on a war footing so as to start the live telecast of lectures at the earliest possible. It is also a matter of great pride for the college that several faculty members from the institute are invited on a regular basis to deliver technical talks/lectures in the EDUSAT studio from where the transmission of these lectures is done all over the state of Punjab.
